Ferrari introduced the 330 GTC at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show to bridge the gap between the sporting 275 GTB and the refined 330 GT 2+2. Lauded for being the best of both worlds, the GTC brilliantly paired Pininfarina's refined two-seat coupe body with a 4.0-liter Colombo V12, rear-mounted five-speed transaxle, four-wheel independent suspension, and disc brakes-features that made it one of the marque's most civilized and rewarding grand tourers, boasting 300 CV, capable of sub-seven-second zero-to-100 km/h performance, and 242-km/h cruising.
This fine 330 GTC was completed in June 1968, finished in Azzurro Hyperion (2.443.648) over a Pelle Nera interior and delivered new to M.G. Crepaldi Automobili S.A.S. in Milan. Its accompanying Ferrari Classiche “Red Book,” issued in August 2016, records that the car is equipped with a correct Tipo 209 4.0-liter Colombo V12, serial number 3701, and correct-type five-speed transaxle, noting that the chassis and engine identification numbers were corrected by Ferrari Classiche in 2016. Its Classiche maintenance libretto records a subsequent service completed at the factory in June 2017. Previously finished in Argento at the time of Classiche certification, the car has since undergone a cosmetic restoration to its originally-delivered Azzurro Hyperion livery approximately three years ago. The bare-metal repaint revealed a highly original body, with only minor repairs required. Acquired some years ago by the current owner out of a collection near Lake Garda, the car was subsequently serviced by Toni Auto in Maranello, with only a few kilometers traveled since.
Positioned as a supremely luxurious yet high performance tourer, and hailed by Formula One World Champion Phill Hill as “the best road-going Ferrari ever built,” this Ferrari Classiche-certified example would be an ideal entrant for Ferrari concours gatherings and touring events-equally at home on the show field as it is covering long distances with effortless pace and refinement.
