Chassis No. ZFFKZ64B000162022
Developed with input from Ferrari Formula 1 icon Michael Schumacher and unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 430 Scuderia followed the Challenge Stradale as the street-legal counterpart to the F430 Challenge racer. Its advantages over the standard F430 coupe were immediately evident, both visually and from behind the wheel. Widespread use of carbon fiber, along with a Lexan rear window, titanium springs, titanium wheel nuts, and numerous additional lightweight components, trimmed 100 kg from the car relative to the standard F430.
This stunning 430 Scuderia was ordered new through Ferrari dealer Lumani Krüger in Germany, with its original November 2007 order form specifying the car in Porsche Grün over Tessuto Nero. It is thought to be the only example of its type finished in this shade, specified by its paint sticker as Verde PPG (159331), supplied by PPG Industries. The vibrant paint was paired with equally striking Gold racing stripes running the length of the car and Gold-finished 19-inch alloy wheels for one of the most striking Scuderia specifications imaginable. The invoice also records a lavishly equipped example from new, including four-point harnesses, a rollover bar, carbon-fiber front and rear elements, carbon entry sills, a carbon LED steering wheel, an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel and handbrake lever, Verde deviated stitching throughout, a satellite alarm, and a silver dedication plaque, inscribed “Raja & Andy.” In total, the car was ordered with over €41.000 in options-a considerable sum for the period, when the palette of personalization choices was far narrower than it is today.
Ordered new by Andreas Segler of Wieckenberg, Germany, the accompanying history file records delivery in July 2008 at 109 kilometers, followed by the installation of an OMP fire suppression system in August 2008 at 445 kilometers and a warranty claim completed in March 2009 at 1,959 kilometers. Further invoices from Lumani Krüger document annual servicing in July 2009 at 3,339 kilometers, further sorting in October 2009 at 4,299 kilometers, and an additional annual service in May 2011 at 4,862 kilometers. Most recently, the car received a service performed at Ferrari specialist Ineco Auto Verona in preparation for the sale.
At the time of cataloging, this 430 Scuderia shows fewer than 10,000 kilometers, adding further appeal to an already singular example. Offered at a time when special-series, naturally aspirated Ferraris continue to command intense attention from discerning collectors, its one-off specification should ensure its place as a highly desirable, investment-grade collectible for years to come.
