Originally supplied by the official Swiss Ferrari dealership Garage Frey Horw, this Testarossa has remained in the care of just two long-term owners since April 1987. A paragon of 1980s performance and styling famed for its 4.9-liter flat-12 engine, gated manual shift, “Monodado” center-lock wheels, and dramatic side strakes, the Testarossa offered few optional extras given its exceptionally luxurious nature. As such, the ordering party's choices were largely limited to the interior and exterior colors, with this example specified in classic Rosso Corsa over Beige/Nero leather with Testa di Moro carpeting, while a stereo and Schedoni luggage set were available as optional additions.
Chassis number 70847 remained with its original owner in Neuenegg, Switzerland, for 27 years with selected use accumulating just 36,141 kilometers in that time. A list of completed services, recording work conducted at Garage Frey Horw and later at Garage Symbol Automobile in Matran, remains on file. The car was acquired in October 2014 by the consignor, only its second caretaker, whose meticulous approach to ownership is evident in a spreadsheet recording the date, distance, route, and fuel economy of each outing from 2016 through August 2026, many of them with the Ferrari Owners Club Switzerland. That same standard extends to the care afforded the car over the past decade, documented by a file of invoices and maintenance records. Chief among the work performed are a complete engine overhaul in 2016 and timing belt replacements at the prescribed three-year intervals.
Offered today in collectible, preserved condition with just under 66,000 original kilometers recorded at cataloging, this exceptional Testarossa is noted to retain the majority of its original coat of Rosso Corsa paint with just a few panels having been repainted by the current owner due to stone chips and scratches, but also both its original Tipo F113 4.9-liter flat-12 engine and transmission. Furnished with five pieces from its Schedoni luggage set and their dust bags, as well as its original books, this most 1980s of Ferraris is a well-documented, Swiss-maintained example held to a standard that is always en vogue.
