Revealed at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, the Superamerica revived one of Maranello's most storied nameplates for a new generation of open grand touring. Its electrochromic glass roof, which rotates 180 degrees to rest flush over the trunk, made it the fastest production convertible in the world at launch.
This striking Superamerica, chassis number 144000, was delivered new on 6 October 2005 by Forza S.p.A., the official Ferrari dealer in Turin. Its first owner lived in Carimate, in the Lombardy countryside north of Milan. The car is finished in Grigio Silverstone, an understated metallic grey suits the Superamerica's long-bonnet proportions well. It is set off by multi-piece alloy wheels, yellow brake calipers, and Scuderia Ferrari shields on the front wings. Inside, warm Cuoio Naturale leather covers the seats, door cards, and console.
The Superamerica later moved to Switzerland and was registered in the Canton of Zug from 2015. It soon received a 30,000-km-interval service with timing belt replacement and four new tires at Auto Pierre Sudan AG. Since 2020 its care has been entrusted to marque specialists Sport Auto Staub AG. That spring they carried out a comprehensive service, renewing the timing belt and tensioner bearing along with the water hoses, gaskets, and engine mounts.
The car's most recent major service took place in March 2025 at approximately 30,460 km. It included a second timing belt and tensioner replacement, fresh engine and transmission oil, new brake fluid, and a handbrake repair before the car was presented for its Swiss MFK inspection. In April 2026 the specialists noticed that the roof was not operating correctly and replaced all four gas struts. The odometer currently shows 31,572 km at the time of cataloging.
Accompanying the car is its leather tool kit, tire inflator, and leather document wallet containing its manuals. With such an extensive program of maintenance in recent years, this Superamerica is ready to be enjoyed with confidence, its glass roof back to let in the sky and the unmistakable howl of its V12.
