For half a century, Ferrari's rich lineage of front-engine V12 spiders-which began in 1948 with the Le Mans-winning 166 MM and extended through 1969 with the introduction of the legendary GTS/4 Daytona-only existed in a handful of limited-production models. That changed in September 2019 when Ferrari introduced the 812 GTS as the latest series-production front-engine V12 convertible from Maranello. The new model shared its mechanicals with the flagship 812 Superfast, including its naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, developing 800 cavalli vapore, which equates to an astronomical 789 imperial horses.

This 812 GTS, chassis number 274734, was finished in sophisticated Nero D.S. over Cuoio leather, and its personalization plate and digital window sticker document a lavish order. Options totaling $61,292 included abundant carbon fiber applied to the door sills, inner door handles, central bridge, dashboard inserts, and Driver Zone with LED shift lights. The cabin is further appointed with full-electric quilted-style seats, a leather-trimmed center console and steering wheel in Cuoio, contrasting Nero special stitching leather details, Cavallini embroidered on the headrests, a yellow rev counter, and a high-power Hi-Fi system. Outside, 20-inch forged diamond-finish wheels with carbon fiber center caps frame gold brake calipers. They are joined by black tailpipe tips, and Scuderia Ferrari shields, and front and parking cameras which round out the specification.

Delivered new through Ferrari of Tampa Bay in Palm Harbor, Florida, the Spider sold to its first owner in March 2022 and was registered in Naples. The car was serviced on three occasions at Ferrari Maserati of West Palm Beach before passing to a second Florida owner in March 2023 at 913 miles. Maintenance was then entrusted to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale, including services at 1,729 and 3,037 miles. The car relocated to California in mid-2025 where it joined its third documented caretaker. The Newport Beach dealer has since serviced it three times, most recently in June 2026 at 3,856 miles, when the battery and serpentine belt were replaced.

In an era dominated by forced induction and electrification, this V12 spider delivers a mechanical symphony that crescendos to 8,900 rpm-an experience made all the more visceral with its retractable hardtop stowed. This nicely preserved example, with a carefully documented life of fewer than 4,000 miles, presents a superb opportunity to acquire one of Maranello's most evocative modern V12s.
